Counseling Services

Mission Statement:

To promote student academic success by providing support for emotional and mental health. We will participate in school-wide initiatives and programs designed to support student success as they relate to students' mental and emotional well-being.

Guidance and Counseling services are provided by licensed School Counseling professionals. Students, parents, teachers, and staff may consult with the counselor on a confidential basis. If a student is not feeling happy or successful at school, the counselor may be of help.

Meet with your counselor to discuss any of the following:

  • Friendships & Relationships
  • Family changes
  • Bullying
  • Grief issues
  • Mistreatment
  • Mediation
  • Safety concerns (for yourself or others)
  • Need for clothes or schooling supplies

Our guidance curriculum includes the following:

  • Academic skills support and teaching strategies for success
  • Career awareness, exploration, and goal setting (through advisory)
  • Bully prevention "Don't Be a Bystander"
  • Suicide prevention
  • Sexual Harassment Education
  • Next Step Planning
  • Student Lead conferences
  • Advisory Lesson education and preparation

We are also available for responsive services including:

  • Conflict resolution (mediations)
  • Facilitate Parent/Teacher conferences
  • Individual and small-group counseling
  • Crisis intervention
  • Peer facilitation
  • Consultation and collaboration with teachers, parents, students, and administration
  • Community Outreach (Title 1 Homeless, clothing bank, and school supplies (donations)
